In the 2023 edition of the Zairi Awards held in Dubai, 171 universities from 29 countries participated, including the United States, Australia, Italy, Spain, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, United Arab Emirates, Canada, and Guatemala. With this recognition, Panamerican Business School -PBS- puts Latin America on the map of global innovation, being recognized among the top 3 globally and number 1 of higher education institutions in Latin America that are reinventing the education of the future.
Panamerican Business School: Number 1 in Latin America, according to Zairi International Awards
Among the organizations that support and endorse this recognition for excellence in higher education are the European Organization for Quality Assurance and UNESCO, among others. As part of a UNESCO initiative, the Zairi International Awards were created to recognize institutions with programs that demonstrate effectiveness and efficiency in the development of new responses to the challenges in education, providing agile and practical solutions aligned to the demands of the labor market. It is a recognition of excellence in disruptive higher education.
For María Isabel Nájera, President of Panamerican Business School, it is an honor to receive this recognition, which includes five evaluation criteria: International Positioning Strategies, Effectiveness in Execution, Impact and Sustainability, Alliances and Organizational Culture.
The Zairi Awards were named in honor of one of the most renowned academics in Europe and the Middle East, Dr. Mohamed Zairi. He was the founder of several universities, advisor to the Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and published more than 70 books and 400 academic articles. He was recognized as one of the forerunners of the concept of Management Excellence and Benchmarking worldwide.
The awards were given by an international committee of independent evaluators and an international jury.
Dr. Udaya Chandrika, Director of the Zairi Awards, recognizes the work of Panamerican Business School, its vision and how it has faced the challenges of sustainably deploying a global educational model and the impact achieved during its international trajectory. Some of PBS’s most relevant internationalization initiatives include:
- Forming alliances with universities such as Florida International University, Canadian University Dubai, Middlesex University UK, Design Thinking Sweden, and Normandie School of Business in France.
- The formation of a faculty with an international profile.
- Multinational composition of the student body.
- Opening of the educational corridor Miami, Madrid, Dubai, and Stockholm.
- Opening of a new educational platform, the Miami-based PBS subsidiary: Panamerican University – USA, a university approved by the U.S. Department of Education to grant academic degrees based in Miami, Florida.
This award recognizes Panamerican University and PBS from Miami as the main campus, who have created a world-class educational offer under four strategic pillars of education: Innovation, Sustainability, Technology and Entrepreneurship.
